What is insta4dl?
insta4dl is a free online tool for saving Instagram Reels, videos, photos, carousels, stories, highlights, profile pictures and captions to your device.
Is insta4dl free?
Yes. All tools are free, with no sign-up and no daily limit for normal use.
Do I need an Instagram account?
No. You never log in with your Instagram account on insta4dl.
Is insta4dl affiliated with Instagram?
No. insta4dl is an independent service and not affiliated with Instagram or Meta.
Downloading
Which links are supported?
Posts (/p/), Reels (/reel/ and /reels/), former IGTV (/tv/), stories (/stories/), highlights (/stories/highlights/ and /s/ links), share links (/share/) and profile links. For stories, highlights and profiles you can also just type the username.
What quality will I get?
The highest quality Instagram stores: usually up to 1080px for photos and 720p–1080p for videos, without re-compression.
Are downloads watermarked?
No. insta4dl delivers the original file and adds no watermark.
Can I download all slides of a carousel at once?
Yes. Use “Download all as ZIP”.
Can I download from private accounts?
No. Only public content can be downloaded.
Why do I see “Post not found”?
The content is private, deleted, age-restricted or the link is incomplete. Check the link and that the account is public.
Why do I see “Instagram is busy”?
Instagram temporarily limited requests. Wait a minute and try again.
How long do download links work?
About three hours, and only on the device that created them. If a link stops working, paste the Instagram link again to get a new one.
Why do I get “Error 404” when I open a download link directly?
For security, download links only work when started from the insta4dl page on the device that requested them. Go back to insta4dl and download from there.
Devices
Does insta4dl work on iPhone?
Yes, in Safari on iOS 13 or later. Files go to Files › Downloads; use Share → Save Video/Image to move them to Photos.
Does it work on Android?
Yes. You can also install insta4dl as an app and share links to it straight from Instagram.
Does it work on PC and Mac?
Yes, in every modern browser. No software or extensions are needed.
Privacy & copyright
Does the creator know I downloaded their content?
No. Instagram doesn’t send any notification when content is saved with insta4dl.
Do you keep copies of my downloads?
No. Files are streamed from Instagram to your device and are not stored on our servers.
Can I repost downloaded content?
Only with permission from the owner. Always credit creators and respect copyright.
How do I stop people downloading my own posts?
Make your account private – it’s the only setting that fully protects your content. Our guide on protecting your Instagram content explains every option.
I’m a rights holder. How do I report content?
Send a notice as described on our DMCA page and we’ll block the listed URLs from being processed.
