Android is the easiest platform for saving Instagram videos. Files go straight to your Downloads folder and show up in your gallery, and with one small setup step you can send posts from Instagram to insta4dl without copying links at all.
Step by step
-
1
Copy the video link
Tap the paper-plane icon under the post or Reel and choose “Copy link”.
-
2
Open insta4dl
In Chrome (or any browser) go to insta4dl.com and tap Paste.
-
3
Download
Tap “Download video”. A notification appears when it’s done.
-
4
Open it from your gallery
Google Photos and most gallery apps list it under Downloads.
The faster way: share straight from Instagram
insta4dl can be installed as a lightweight web app. Once installed it appears in Android’s share sheet, so you can send a post to it the same way you’d send it to a friend.
- Open insta4dl.com in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu and choose Install app (some phones call it “Add to Home screen”).
- In Instagram, tap the paper-plane icon on a post or Reel, then the share option that opens the system menu (often labelled “Share to…” or shown as an arrow icon).
- Pick insta4dl. The post opens and starts loading immediately.
The web app doesn’t ask for any permissions – it can’t read your files, contacts or photos. Removing it works like uninstalling any app.
Where are my downloads?
Everything lands in the phone’s Downloads folder. Open the Files app (or “My Files” on Samsung) and sort by date if you can’t spot it. Files are named insta4dl_username_code.mp4, which makes them easy to search for.
Samsung Internet, Firefox and others
Every modern Android browser works. Samsung Internet also supports installing insta4dl as an app; Firefox works for downloads but doesn’t add it to the share sheet.
Troubleshooting
- Download fails right away: check free storage and that your browser is allowed to save files (Settings › Apps › Chrome › Permissions).
- The video plays instead of downloading: long-press the “Download video” button and choose “Download link”.
- “Post not found”: the post is private, removed or age-restricted.
